Here's the donor bike, together for the last time. The plan is to mate the 16" girls Stingray fork to some meaty 26x2.5" whitewalls, with some #120 chain thrown into the blender at some point, strung around 90s huffy mtb running gear. Wish me luck!

Welded up some bike frame tubing I had laying around instead of buying new stock. I also decided to cook up some tasty chains tonight. This'll cook the grease out of the metal and anneal it, making it easier to weld and shape

Very cool! Any special secret to cooking the chain or just place it on the fire?
Soak it in heavy Moly grease for as long as you like, open it up to let it breathe, then add wood chips for a smoky flavor and place directly onto hot coals. Rotate once, remove when cherry red

Ok, I finally have a good idea where I'm going with this build. Thanks for trundling along with me so far, I was lost in the wilds until today. Here's a rough sketch of what I want to build

I'm going to use a women's Columbia Rambler tank I got recently, and the lower half of the frame will be #120 industrial chain

The special features on this bike are going to be a hooker header inspired chainguard, softtail rear end, a floating (ish) steel seat pan, and more to come

Gaah, need a panorama function to see the whole thing in one pic. Doing some rough mocking up tonight. Need to get some angle iron so I can start welding the chain. The insulation panel behind the frame is 8ft long...
