Hi all!

I want to go ahead and thank you ahead of time for your help. I will try and get the serial number over the next couple of days to help out in the identification of this bike.

I believe it is a Monark Silver King but it is obviously not Aluminum. It was my father's and he rode it in high school. I believe it is probably from the 1950's.

Please help me identify it and let me know if it is something that I should restore or leave alone. How much is something like this worth? Thank you!

I believe that model is the Silver King Sovereign or Roadster from sometime in the mid 50's. I don't think there was a big difference between the two, cosmetic stuff like tires, light, bars, etc.

Monark dropped all their balloon tire models after 1954. The new middleweight line for '55 was badged Silver King. There were a couple mw Monarks also made before the company's sale to Huffy in late '57. -Adam
