I spent $5.24 to get hose barbs and shrink tubing to splice the cable housing. Everything else was in the pile.

i kinda like this idea
all my builds are zero money i use parts from bikes i scrap for parts
i currently have a huge collection of parts
a good idea i might be interested in but not sure i have enough to build a fully functional build yet
shoot me some ideas of what you have in mind /rules/time frames ect and i might be willing to accept a challenge if i can do it
should be fun
thanks
Sean

Sounds like a great idea to me, kinda busy with the muscle bike build off at the moment, but might be up for it depending on when you start...

Even if I dont join up, sounds like a great idea and I will be following...

Luke.

Why not just call it a paint buildoff, that way the frame is not part of the build/final than it opens it to more builders (meaning me :D ). The frame does not matter whether you build it scratch or salvaged it from your collection. I would enjoy a painting specific buildoff to give me ensentive to sharpen my very medicor paint skills.

Just a humble suggestion. (of course I am referring to after the current buildoff).

ok i think i can pull this off when ever anyone's ready
i will post a pic of the frame i will be using
anyone else up for it
also maybe some details like how long we will have how many pics we need to post and anything else that may be needed to know
thanks

Well, turns out I'm spending little to nothing on this years build off bike, so I may not need to enter another one with that theme. :)
same here!

yeah im in let me know if anyone wants to start this
however im moving so ill need bout a month or so before i can begin
i like the rules to be as follows.
no frame mods/welding unless its necessary.
not bought parts just use what you got .
paint can be used if you wish.
zero money spent on parts .frame must be stock.
just simple bolting on parts and using stock frames.
anything goes as far as type of bike as long as its built entirely out of parts you have lying around.

maybe something like that?
sound good?
let me know im game

The only change that I can see is if you trade parts for other parts.

i agree that would be a good change
technically trading is still not buying so that could be ok
so yea trading parts for parts is accepted
thanks and let me know but like i said once ive moved i will be ready

All of my bikes and builds are NET ZERO cost. I pay for all of my cool stuff by selling the regular stuff.
