Just got back this 1989 Cannondale R600 frame from the powder coat paintshop. I slapped on some decals today, and gave it a clearcoat. I'll keep updating the thread as the build progresses. All parts are here - except for the Chinese carbon wheels. Those aren't expected for another two weeks.

I'm sure its an optical illusion but how about a straight edge on the underside of the top tube?

I see what you're talking about. It's just a bad angle on the photo, or an illusion. Top tube looks great, although there's a 1mm dent near the R600 decal. It's so small, it's almost imperceptible.

what components is it going to get?

Having refurbished an RB-2 recently, I have my eye on a vintage Panasonic frame as my next resto-mod.

For components: Shimano 105 groupset 2x11, including rim brakes; 11-34T on the cassette; Cane Creek 40 headset and ToSeek drop bars; Superteam carbon fiber wheels 27mm rim width with a 55mm dish. Pedals are dual function - Shimano SPD on one side, and flats on the other. All said and done, without pedals, it'll come in around 8.5 kg (under 19 lbs).
