Looking for information on Norman of England. I picked up this cool 3 speed, as seen in my fresh finds post. But information is scarce. I believe Raleigh took over and produced them as am entry level bike?
Hub is an Sturmy sw, dated 57.

From my research:
"The Norman company was originally independent factory at Ashford in Kent, was bought up by TI in the 50's. After TI bought Raleigh around 1960 they closed most of the other factories, including Norman. After that, Raleigh continued to make some bikes with the Norman name."

Your chain wheel is a Norman and since it's a 57 model was made at the Norman factory before it was closed.

Thanks for that great info. It's a cool bike, with Norman pedals, head set ornament, chain wheel etc. The fenders are the same profile as my Raleigh, but a bit longer.
