I watched a you tube vid and learned last year. I always thought it was difficult but no, it's easy. I've laced up dozens of rims now, and let the bike shop do the truing. Finding a video that didn't have someone talking all day long was tougher than the lacing.

Once is a while I get to do this:

Same ERD, Same Spoke Count, Good Spokes, Good Nipples

Time to tension it up and then fully lace and tension the rear going with it. This wheelset is going to replace the somewhat curb-hopped Araya 7X wheels on my Cruiser Supreme. I also have a set of NOS Deore XT canti brake pads on the way.

I'd never do this for anyone else, but have for myself and trust it on occasion with no failures...yet.

Disassembled, the crank assembly. While the crank was de-rusting in the electro tank, I degreased the sprocket. Also, got the rear rim painted. Later this weekend, I'll service the ND hub, and rebuild the rear rim, during the week.

New bearings, cups & cones all around. Straightened the curb-bent fork. Gotta rehab the chain, if it's possible, install it, the chain guard, and fenders, reinstall the stem and bars, make an adapter for a saddle, and I might be able to ride this thing this weekend.

Pay no mind to the interim Road Master head badge ... I'm sketching the artwork for the Omega-Mu badge.

This bike is kick'n & screaming, all the way through this resurrection, man. It's like, it doesn't want to ride again. Stupid little things, like kickstand alignment, to prevent the crank from hitting it ... fender clearance between the forks, that isn't discovered, until the rim is on ... ordered a pair of grips, one is 7/8", the other is 1" ... wrong hardware for the chain guard, and things like that. But, it's getting VERY close to riding condition.
