I managed to get the frame, chainguard, tank and crank and sprocket sprayed with the dead flat clear. It worked just like i wanted it to. It looks like it said it would .Dead flat everywhere. Also did a little decorating on the seat.

Crank and crank arms finished. I went with a little different shade for the arms. gonna get the sealed bearings in today. Despite mother natures bad attitude lately i'm still making some progress.
Looks like rainy season is over for at least the next week or so here in my neighbor hood. I can finally finish up my paint work and get back on schedule. I did get some smaller stuff painted up in the basement. I picked up a can of Duplicolor orange metal cast and layed down some layers on my handlebars. I really like the effect. Will be using this again. Got to work tomorrow and Monday the then i will get the cans rattling.
The fade on those bars looks great!
I did the center section first and added a couple layers more than the bar ends. When I sat them together I liked the contrast between the two. I really like how the color changes when the light hits them from different angles. This stuff is great for accent pieces.

Bare bones look.. I think this really looks the part for a dead flat look.. RaToN... Razin...
I changed up my pedals when i decided on my paint finish. My original pedals used black dice but i decided to use clear orange. They are 19mm casino dice that better fill the pedals i pulled out of my parts pile. I need to find a couple orange reflectors to replace the red ones. I also got some braided brass hose cover to cover my truss rods. I had a couple dice left so i drilled the out for valve stem covers.
Perfect day here, i hope to finish painting.
You're not gambling on that 'roll' of the dice ; dig the transparent orange!
Paint is almost finished. I layed down some creme schwinn like stripping on the front end and a little fender accent on the rear I cut down. I just need to finish the front forks and get it all painted up in clear dead flat. Accents will be outlined in a contrasting color and everything will get dead flat clear.

You can partially thank my wife for that. She managed the blue tape, duct tape, furnace filters, and other Consumer Home Improvement products for over 30 yrs right up the road at 3M.
