So I picked this 2013 model up last Friday. Original owner rode it 3 times. Its definitely a big box store purchase.

That said im not attached to it and looking to mess around.

Woody's Fenders coming.

Looking for thoughts, opinions, suggestions.

I like the bike and the thumb shifter conversion idea. Like most I'm not a fan of the grip shifters. The woody fenders look cool but to me that is one of those items you never know how the look will be until on the bike. The stock fenders look nice IMO. You could always add some more pin striping or painted shapes to them for more pizazz. Different colored seat and grips might change the bikes look a fair amount.

I agree the fenders are up in the air. Might use them on the black Schwinn next to Sanctuary.

Anyone think a color change should happen?

Nice bike ! I think the paint is pretty nice , if you changed the tires to something with less treads and , pedals ,seat , grips to something more highgrade and/or vintage looking , it could end up like a nice ride IMO

Those fenders do in fact look pretty cool... lose the seat! Old Brooks B67 (or knock off), the springer model, in honey brown w/ matching leather lock on grips... Yeah, that's the ticket!;)

Good call!

Luke.

I agree about adding a honey Brooks. I also am a fan of those SunRace thumbies. A lot of ppl dislike gripshifters, and I'm always willing to defend them, but the truth is: I don't run gripshifters on any of my bikes. So, maybe i'm not such a big fan, after all.

I think the trick to making gripshifters work for ya, and i've helped a lot of folks out with this tip, is to run standard length grips and put the shifter inboard of the grips. A lot of ppl are weirded out by inadvertent shifts while gripping the bars tight; moving the grips in a few inches so you can get a good grip without accidentally twisting the shifter helps.....

The other strategy, of course, is to switch to trigger or thumb shifters...

OUCH! I was just on the computer and remembered to check out Woody's Fenders! The fenders probably cost just a hair less than the whole bike!

They still look cool though!

Summer update. She's been untouched thru the cold weather.

Miami Sun Trike rear end. 24x3 Dyno Fireball tires. GripShift garbage is GONE!

Rust Oleum Canvas White. Too bright but the closest 'off the shelf' I could find.

What say you all to seat and bar options. I hate the seat but can live with it. I'm also thinking wide 'u' or straight bars. The current bar has me feeling like T-rex. Im 6'4" and need to spread out a bit.

Ape hangers feel cliche'

Thoughts?

but thats just me:crazy:

Now you need another rear fender.....and a second rack...Maybe a woven basket between the two or even a bungee luggage hold down. Or a nice chrome barbecue or refrigerator grate.(Cut to fit and look right, of course.)

Or not...
