You guys have some good eyes, are they Schwinn rims? I'm with Wildcat it is a repaint and built up. No way to tell if dated parts are correct till it gets broken down. $300/400 depending on if parts are correct.

Looks like Schwinn rims but can't be sure unless we get a closeup. The front and rear rims match so that's one good thing.

It’s a stingray frame and parts except for the fenders.
schwinn used the same frame on non sting ray models. I've seen some rebuilt as sting rays
done that myself. my first was in the 60s. it was a skipper. it's really difficult to confirm that any particular frame was a Sting Ray frame

Updated pictures if anyone has any other opinion.

When did Chicago switch serial number locations from the rear dropout to the headtube?
Yea I had originally tought it was a 70’ and I was just confused when the complete serial number said 58’. Do you believe it is a stingray frame?
The number stamping is done beforehand not at the time of assembly. The components go int a box then get sent to be made into bike frames. The stamping change took place in mid 1970. You can have a 1970 built and sold bike with either stamping location. It moved to the head tube later in the year. You can also have a 1969 stamped dropout on a bike sold in 1970 as a 1970. Parts were made only a few times a year for all year bike production. Right about the end of October is when a component would end up on the following year bike. I have a couple Stingrays built early in the year with last years crank and fork.

Thanks for all of that info really helps madman.

The componentry says 1970 for sure, but repaints can have mish-mashes of parts. Avef, what kind of date stamping is is on the handlebars, stem
I have not yet taken any parts off but I’ll get around to it hopefully today and I will post an update today chicken. Thanks for the comments
