Jeeeezzzz are we supposed to be commenting on these frikkin threads or not? Can't even believe someone would slam a person for offering a suggestion to a builder! First time I've witnessed negativity like that here

I'm not going to name names. I offered a small suggestion, added a picture of what I was saying, got called out by another spectator. A little bit condescending and insulting as well.
 
Sure hope it wasn't my different opinion on CWC fender braces that was misconstrued as negativity. If so, sorry bud.
 
No way, King. Nothing but respect for you. Nothing but respect from you. Pure class. Discussion about a build is fine. Belittling a person for their perceived build skills, making them feel unwelcome because of it, not very encouraging for other new builders.

In my experience on RRB, we are just like a bunch of guys sitting around our garages sharing stories and occasionally ribbing each other with sarcastic jokes or jabs. Sarcasm doesn't always translate well on a keyboard unless you specifically say that it is sarcasm or add a bunch of smilies and such, and then it sorta loses the whole point of sarcasm. On rare occasions there are people that are just buttholes, but I really haven't seen that here in quite a while. My guess is that someone attempted to make a fun jab, and it didn't translate well through the keyboard.
Build cool bikes and have fun.
 
I think in this case the (hopefully) unintended subtext of the joke was that matti's suggestion was out of place and shouldn't have been made because the OP was too experienced to listen.

When we all know if you want to tease matti you just say "Go pick up a wrench, smart arrse"

I was going to enter a bike in the Build Off. Picked it up last week for Father's day. Was quite excited about it. Was planning on saving it for the dog days when the build off slows down a bit. Thought it would be fun. Now I know I'm not welcome so I'll stuff it. @sandman your words have proven what kind of person you are. Stay off my thread please

I'm just trying to have some fun! I wish everyone would enter the build-off. I love seeing everybody's ideas. Let's just all get along. It's easy to do. Just don't say anything negative or something you might regret later. I feel very lucky to have this group in my life. It's great therapy. Peace to all!
