I chose fire engine red on my 42 Hawthorne to look like enamel, and it was cheaper than the more flashy paints.
A hundred for both frame and forks.

It still looks good and a good match for the seat and red line slick.
 
I agree with SD and WC, it's a classic vintage red and fits that red lined slick well!
 
Well decided to stick with the paint..... took me everything to not have it repainted though. Have been picking away at it the last few weeks, but have been neglecting to post progress, due to time constraints. Here are a few pics of progress along the way...

Still have a bit to do, and install decals, but it's nearing completion 🤟😎🤟
