Hey hey,

Being interested in American bicycle design (shape, but also parts design) I also found out about the (older!) Swedish Crescent bicycles.

Its a bit of a mix of European and American design, best of both worlds in my view:
One piece bottom bracket design, but a bit more lightweight/smaller.
US kickstand.
European frame design and hubs.

So last vacation trip to Sweden I salvaged a "time machine" bicycle. Only thing being changed or replaced are the tires and the pedals.
A bit of a barnfind.
There was also a Danish bicycle with a beautiful lugged frame, but I decided on this one because it is completely original.

I cleaned the bike a bit (very dusty!), greased and partially replaced the bearings and put new 584 tires on there. The dynamo needs a check, but it rides very well!
It has a "Torpedo" coasterbrake hub.

Interesting thing on this bicycle: It looks like it is not welded, but soldered. Yet, at the bottom bracket the down tube and chainstay tubes stick in the frame without an apparent solder fillet or weld. Checkout the pictures below!

Before I post the pictures of the bike, does anyone know the age of this bike? I am thinking 70's, but not sure... tips to websites are welcome too!

FRAMENUMBER (on the bottombracket) = 5329604

Thank you in advance! Enjoy the pictures (after cleaning and new tires).

The tire says "Trelleborg" which is a city in Southern Sweden.

You should be able to narrow down the date based on the hub:

Matti, I just learned thanks to you, where is your patreon page? :rockout:
I really did not know... So thank you!!

The hub has the month U and the year G

This means the hub is from July 1964.

The numbering of years was restarted and this could mean the bike is from 1988, but seeing all details, brands and all, this is not the case.

This probably is an old bike, wow!

Thanks again @MattiThundrrr
