Pulled this sweet old Canadian classic out of the attic where it had been waiting for the last couple of decades.

The history is the story here, I believe it to be a one family bike, the original owner being Ms Jean Marie W., my sweet grandmother in law. I'm doing the build for my wife, who's middle name is also Marie. I believe my mother in law also had it for a short while in the 80s, so if I can get Thundrrr Jr on it, it will be a four generations bike, a testament to the toughness of the old CCM bikes.

I think this is going to be a pretty basic restoration. Everything looks original, down to the grips and tires.

Sachs Komet hub date code J= 1966. I'm going with that for the bikes' age

Yeah, no as the s7's are 26x1 3/4...
The iso number is the same I've replaced many of these tires with them. There a Canadian size 26x 1 1/2 they will fit in that frame and on the rim. . It's a pain ccm builders have had. The 28s are a little easier some people have had success with Dutch tires.https://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/tires/

"The Sweet Marie chocolate bar was inspired by a love affair.
In 1893, after an evening stroll through the streets of London, Ontario, with his girlfriend Marie, author Cy Warman was so smitten that he sat down in a park and wrote a poem called “Sweet Marie.”
When musician Raymond Moore read the poem he put it to music, and the song became a hit that inspired a chocolate company to create the Sweet Marie chocolate bar."

I had this 8 track and played it a lot in my old Ford Falcon.
