Tank ID

I have only this half a tank. Can anyone tell me what bike it fits?
It doesn’t really work on any of the bikes I have…

'39-41 Hawthorne Comet made by CWC and Snyder. There are smooth side straight, embossed straight and embossed bent (yours pictured). I think the bent tanks are more '41...but it isn't clear.

I need a left side '41 Murray long tank...they must have been really rough on the left side of their bikes bitd.

Well I guess that makes sense. That’s the side to the ground on my dismounts.
never thought of it that way before.

Those who know to never set their bike down on the drive side and failing or improperly set kickstands seem to be the most likely suspects to me.
