lets start by declassing what's what. F1 formula racers. were made to mimic the high end road bike type Velodrome racing track bikes frames. but smaller. IE run 20" bike wheels/ tires. but to seem more fun they opted for the gear style track bikes. VS fix gear only model. many bike brands that built BMX hoped on the new fad. building frame and forks. so we the public can custom build one up. with are fave brand parts. or if that seemed like to much work/ effort. you could buy a low end complete ready to ride.
to get a feel if you liked it, with out spending a lot. those had cheep low cost parts 1PC a high ten steal frame. or if you did not care about price. wanted bragging wrights for haven one of the best made. you bought one of the top line models full sealed bearing high end Shimano Dura-Ace or Campy component's.. they looked like 10 speed bikes with mountain bike handlebars and stems.
examples of F1's

some random cool pictures for fun.
that's the basics of F1 bikes / GPV bikes. way way to many models / brands over 100 diff good ones and another 3o cheep crappy pore department store quality models

now lets get to the home made off shoot G. P. V bikes IE Gravity Powered Vehicles. started some time around 1986. take any bike frame. pull the cranks / drive line system. can't risk pedals or cranks hitting pave meant. these wacky cool rides. were simple get it as low to gowned as you can. less wind resistance. add rear foot pegs for feet. race them down steep tong twisty roads at speeds of 60 + miles per hour. fastest one/ first one down wins. some had faring's adapted to them wheel disk . to try and make them faster. can't figure out how to load videos from you tube.

Awesome thread! I’ve been on bike hiatus for a little while now, been traveling and stuff, but yesterday I did tune ups on me and the wife’s mini’s so this was awesome to see right before we go for our first ride in months. Here’s our bikes.
