Neighbor youngster who's dad bought this bike for him and I went out to ride some dirt today, clinic style.

He's a quick study and figured out a few of the advanced tenets already, stoked about speed. I had the Big Orange Machine and cut loose a bit after getting him dialed in to a point. Catching him took more time as the ride progressed.

Stunning Autumn day in Melbourne for a ride along the Yarra River trail on the Red Menace. I recently fitted a pair of S&M Speedball tires and I must say they are incredible. 110psi rated! I pumped them to 85psi and they still ride great but the bike rolls so much faster. There's also little flex when you're standing on it.

The first 3 photos are of the Melbourne Docklands precinct. A bit over 20 years ago when I moved nearby, none of this existed. The area housed disused customs sheds (like the one in the third photo) and paved bluestone rides. I wish it was still like that, but some would call it progress.

In the last photo you can see the heritage listed vinegar girl sign in the background.

Sweet bike!

I finished my first build yesterday; after a year and a half of collecting parts, trial and error’s, wrong parts or bad parts bought on eBay; my 1952 Straight Bar is complete. I took it out this morning for the first ride, It rides like a classic Cadillac, Heavy and Smooth!
It still needs some fine tuning, but WOW….. what a ride I couldn’t stop smiling :)

Took this for a quick spin after airing the tires. About two maybe three minutes and your legs are done. It's a workout for sure. Can you see why?View attachment 161245

GC.
If you can’t use the smaller ring in front I’d look for a bigger cog.
so how does a full suspension single speed ride?
