This frame was originally my class one build but my wife hated the Amazon banana seat and I hated the stance of the bike with wheels.

This is the frame (apparently I deleted the photos from class1)

i I went out to use the shop at my former employers today and this happened. I think the frame needs more head tube angle

original was 13 degrees before it was chopped off.

A grinder with a flap disc was used for fitment.

then it was burnt back together. I can clean these up at home if I decide to paint it. Great weld penetration was all that mattered

this plus extra material from beveling the edges is all we removed. Head tube has 28 degrees of angle now.
This is mild for a class 2 build but I can’t seem to leave this frame alone to die

We certainly gained some headtube angle. After this it’s a lot like when I was building it for class 1.

the black sissy bar and seat combo looks the coolest, but would be uncomfortable.

this chrome one loses some style points but gets it in a better position. I still love these baskets. The downfall is some of the nicer parts are on my class 1 build so we are using the weird seat accompanied by a rear wheel I’ve never heard of

I feel like I need too chop more stuff up for a class 2 build 🤣

It's not a contest (except that it is) I've chopped three old builds of mine up plus some leftover bits of a couple others for my build. A few bits of steel bar can be added for any number of additional styling points. The classic spiderweb is a good example. So don't let the feeling that you've done too little get the best of you. Chop some more stuff up, we've got plenty of time!

Carl.

The rake looks much better now! I love the patina too, so I think I’d just clear coat it and call it done! Seat looks cool by the way…

Great patina and rake. Anytime you can make a wife happy and have fun building a bike, it's a win-win!

Great work on the head tube angle. Digging the overall look. Patina is spot on!
Maybe a longer extension type handlebar to match the length the saddle gives off? Any chain guards in the stash that might fit the vibe? Otherwise, I've got a couple that might work and be willing to part with.

I have a chainguard that came with it, looks like it was an aftermarket chrome one that someone painted with the rest of the bike. It will be on it before it’s done!

the bad part is my wife hates this bike, so it likely will not be a keeper. She much prefers her shiny spaceliner. What we call patina she calls ugly.
