Love the Vans Cult tires. Been eying some for a while. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

On another note, I’m looking forward to seeing how those hoops stretch that Vans out

I love the mass of these 26x3 so much with this wheelset, that I didn't even bother mocking up one of the Vans 26x2.1 tires. As cool as the Vans are, this semi-fat wheelset just feels too right for this build.

Those look ridiculous, I’ll be down to grab them later….😏🀣
I will bring my frame/fork down though to see if they fit on Sunday’s Best. My intended rims are 57mm I think. So if they fit with those 65s…..hello? eBay? You there? Yeah, I need to order a set of……” 🀣

Bring it down tomorrow and we'll do a test fit. They really look sharp!!!

Mounted the other tire and wheels, then adjusted the triple tree to make the frame level. I am really digging the stance of this so far.

I am looking forward to seeing how this rides. For me, the riding geometry of my Rockabilly Boogy is perfect. I had already laid the Uncle Stretch frame over the Rockabilly a few months ago when I received it and could tell the crank to seat to headset triangle was relatively close.

So, after I had the wheels mounted, I lined up the cranks on the Rockabilly again. It looks like this is gonna be a comfy ride. Longer total wheelbase, but the feet forward riding geometry is very similar between the two.

It's also cool to see how fat these tires look next to the 24x3 Fatti-Os for reference!

Since the legs are raw, perhaps frame colored legs? Especially if you go with the color you mentioned

Yeah, probably so. Of course this may not be my final fork. I do have a Flying Machine springer fork.
But that has raw metal legs too. So painted legs will probably happen if I stick with triple trees.

Just realized that I posted this travel post in the wrong thread a couple of weeks ago.

Here are a few pics of us from Monterosso al Mare. It is the town that we based ourselves for the Cinque Terre coast

Rooftop terrace view that we had to ourselves most of the time since we had the only rooftop room.

Here is a killer Night Mode photo I was able to take with the moon reflecting on the sea from the rooftop terrace. Cell phone cameras have come a long way.

What is the purpose of the extra half pipe on the frame top just behind the seat post tube ?

The 2nd owner of this frame (TikiHarl) added that to mount a grip shifter.

Went for an Oompa-Loompah ride today rather than work on my build.

After work today I went and picked up this "bike" part for an idea I have for this build.

I have a funky tank in my head using this aluminum baseball bat. Got other things to work on first, but had to grab it when it came up on marketplace for ten bucks. Did a simple mock up to see if it would fit and flow like it does in my head. We'll see down the road on the build. Maybe in the 7th Inning S.T.R.E.C.H. ? :D

Also pulled this out of my stash. Looks like it's aged a little bit. It's a 3D rat Fink sprocket that I got from Gear Head Customs last year. I think it will work good on this build.
