All I have is an old top race that I cut into in several places with a small Dremel grinder, to create a cheap tap for cleaning up threads.

I have done this before with American made hardware and it worked pretty well but the one I made recently is Chinese, and the steel is too soft.

Huh? Finished threads up already? I better get working! Front hub rebuild time

Step one. Have a hub.

Now rip its guts out.

Twenty loose balls. Do I hear laughter from Ingola?

A little bit of wd40 and we're smiling

Guessing game: how many did I drop?
Anyhow, that's one off the to do list. Coaster hub is next, should be a fun learning experience

Lol I don't have spares. I have magnets. 3 is the answer, 1 down that deep dark crack, 2 rambling about the debris of the workbench.

I should have told you they weren't in a cage you rear will be much the same. Try a Raleigh none of the bearings have cages

Well, that's another DNF for Matti. Time to pause and reflect. I don't think I'm cut out for the build offs... Might be my last for a while. Thanks for looking, folks

Feels about the same as on my end... One DNeS (as in did not even start) and another DNF, as the Hope4muscle will not get done before sunday (the second DNF for that poor little bike now). It seems to me that I only can finish a BO bike, when I build most of it on the campground. Building at home in the basement just doesn't work for me...

I've had the same problem with motivation but I don't even have a basement most is done in the kitchen livingroom and any where else I can. Then since this build off started we've had a natural disaster (Snow storm in Niagara pcb clean up big time) third degree chemical burn (Matti seen them so gross) put off my feet for 30 days then a cold that took me and rhyes out for a month. Winter build very hard.

Just finish it later Matti. I can only imagine what it would be like to work over in your part of the world in winter.
