late 50's murray tanker?

i missed out on the thunderjet I was supposed to get delivered today. then. while I was driving home from my thriftstore run, empty handed, I drove by a lot with a bunch of newer bikes all over it. stopped and talked to the owner and he sold me this. missing rims and tires, handlebars, neck, and who knows what else. but this made up for my other loss. my first, real, boys tank bike. bad repaint, but who cares! I am one happy camper! same price as the one that was supposed to be delivered, $50.00. this will be my boten bike!

picking up 3 donor bikes this week sometime. wheels, bars, seats. 1 early Hiawatha girls with good wheels. the other 2, roached out girls muscle bikes from the late 60's. ape hangers and banana seats.

This is "Rusty", I always thought it was an early 50's Higgins. Now I am not sure. Twin brother?

This same Murray built frame was badged as Higgins, Murray, Western Flyer and Firestone...maybe more! Get tired of your Higgins? Swap out the badge and you have a Western Flyer!
