For your approval I need to fully disclose the background and ask for your permission.

My son started this restoration for the WBO in January. School was keeping him too busy and his priority was there so he only made very little progress. He cleaned the rims and laced them. He didn't even true the wheels. We also had the frame sand blasted and he sprayed primer on it, and smeared some bondo in some imperfections. That bondo is still gooped on, unsanded. That's it. You can see all that here: http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?threads/69-sears-spyder-restoration.89086/

Since many builds in RRB have already build wheels and sometimes bare frames, I thought it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities to restart this project in the MBBO on top of my other build. I wanted to make sure there were no objections. Please let me know.

Here's the pile of parts before the frame was blasted.

Here is how the frame looks today. The bondo is still on it.

What could be better than a crash build????? How about two crash builds.

Your son started the build in winter and didn't have time yo finish, now you're starting a build for mbbo with parts you had lying around.
Well within the rules I read.

I like it but as penance your son has gotta do a lot of the work!
I thought about that, but he's back in school as a Sophomore with a busier schedule this year. So, if I actually want to get it done it'll have to be me. It's honestly just a lot of polishing and paint. Just boring stuff.

Love the Spyder Liner frames

"Web". Cute.

I pulled the frame out and started some sanding. It still had the bondo on it from back in January. I think I'm going to smooth it out then actually build it. The parts have never actually been together before. I want to do this to see where I really am on this build. I believe I'll just have to paint is and a whole lot of polishing and other fine details, but the build will reveal anything "unknown" so I can attack it before paint.

You gonna build it up in primer? Def wanna see some pics of that. Something about primer and shiny chrome.
