    Be careful welding galvanized metal as it produces harmful fumes that can really mess you up.

    I would put a piece of flat plate across the top following the chain stays and then hide an angle iron under it the full length that you were showing of putting it in between the stays. This should give you the needed strength and not ruin the looks.

    I got some work done on it, most of the work was cutting apart an old build that never worked out. So far it seems to be fitting together well. The crank will go on the frame about where it sit on the ground. Here is my thinking stool

    Yea grade 8 bolts and nuts should hold up better to due that type of work.

    I do hope you just didn’t order an AC transformer as that will not work with straight DC power coming from the battery’s. You will need a DC to DC step down power supply.

    Tonight was really nice outside after work, but I didn’t get a lick of my build done. Been dealing with some type of head cold or something like that.     What I plan on doing is take a bearing cup from a three piece crank set and welding it to a pipe that slips over the hub of the wheels I have to attach the freewheel to the rear wheel.     Float the flame in there by using thin gauge wire that is blacked out so it isn't as noticeable and make the flame the center of attention...
