I hadn't thought of that and I do have a 1" fork...

I bought a 1" BMX threaded stem for my Klunker build only to find my Schwinn Heavy Duti is a newer model with a 1 1/8" threaded headset/fork. Is there such a thing as a BMX stem for this set-up? Where can I find such a thing?

Thanks - it was quite a revelation to find the 1 1/8" steerer. I was planning my build based on 1" and its limitations. I'd also bought a 1" bmx stem. Now I am rethinking everything down to the color I'd settled on with the powdercoater...

Also, there were chain guard and kickstand tabs on the frame up until about an hour ago...

I also was just surprised to find out the steerer tube is 1 1/8". I was expecting 1"...

I just got a Schwinn Heavy Duti and I am trying to decipher the serial number On the bottom bracket it reads: SNTCA06J00219 From what I can tell, it MAY be a japanese made bike from September 1976, but the plethora of letters at the front has me confused. Anyone able to clarify?
