I've decided to repaint my ride but it looks like a previous owner went wild with a spray can and covered everything primer red including the rims handle bars... you name it, its red.
What is the best way to prep it for repainting?
Should I remove the wheels and handle bars before painting...
Sorry I've been MIA, hurt my back a bit so I was hobbling around like a crab for a bit... joys of growing old. I finally got back to the nightmare trike.
I had problems with the spokes and I was wondering what the heck. I had the right length spokes and had them in the right pattern (thanks to...
Thank you all for your valuable information. Looks like I'll be using that seeing as my spoke package is MIA. Doesn't even look like it made it out of China! I'd laugh if I wasn't so close to finishing my nephews wheel.
I ordered spokes that are coming from China and which are taking forever to arrive and it's got me thinking. Where do you get parts from? I have to buy a new axle and hubs not to mention more spokes and minor things and I like to actually hold the parts in my hand before buying but the local...
Wow thanks. This explains why my nephew had a catastrophic wheel failure. I've been wracking my brain as to why it collapsed but this explains it. Fortunately I've fixed the wheel that didn't collapse replacing the missing spokes and I'm going to totally rebuild the other rear wheel. Lin
Trikes aren't my speciality but I was hoping to tap into everyone elses knowledge. I know that a bike with missing spokes is asking for trouble with the hub and frame/forks but what can happen to a trike with missing spokes in the tear tyres? I am going to fix the missing spokes but how urgent...
Any advice on what is needed in a bike/trike tool kit? I want to build up my tools to work on all our collection of bikes and trikes instead of trying to make do with what I already have (which I am the first to admit is pretty limited) . Thanks in advance. Lin
My husband broke his Huffy mountain bike brake lever (don't ask 😆) and wants a clamp brake lever to replace it so we don't have to remove the grips and fiddle with the gears. However there are so many out there. Anyone got any recommendations?
