Ryo's Rat/Hot/Cafe-Rod Bike Build (temporarily revived!)

Looking back, I can't believe I completely left out the work that went into the engine on this thing. Anyways, here are some back-tracked photos of the engine work.

    reversed head setup???

Considering how dang roomy your frame is, you might be able to get away with using the stock intake manifold, just make sure your carbs aren't TOO angled, otherwise it'll mess with your float level. The biggest problem is port-matching the transfer ports. The meat left on the engine case is...

    reversed head setup???

The Short answer is, "Yes it will." Now, I never done this myself, but if you go to motorbicycling.com, there has been a few people that has done it. Now assuming you can cut and weld, some obstacles to overcome are : - Matching the transfer ports (may be doable without, but not optimal) -...

Also, here's a little blooper video, But as a proof that it's up and running. I also don't have a Go-Pro So I can't really do "on-board" videos. Smoke is most likely because of break-in mixture and Cold start. Hard to notice when you're riding the thing.

Series of failures... Dissapointment :/ I tested the generator today. A whoopin 2 volts AC at a good few rpm above idle. Un-believable... It either had a short somewhere in the coils, making it a big stick of heat, or the stator was too far away from the magneto. which was most likely the case...

Please, attempt the cable end thing at your own risk... Didn't even last 2 days. Ended up having to modify some sort of collar with an allen tight down. I also made a little alternator with hopes of getting 12v rather than 6v out of the magneto. It's composed of busted transformer parts...

Well, good news and bad news. Good news is that it ran, and ran FANTASTIC. I was so EXCITED that I completely forgot to take a video!. The large baffle and the exhaust really makes it sound like a machine rather than a toy or a weed-wacker. It pulled a lot more than I could ever imagine (110lb...

Got a really long ladies belt for a dollar at goodwill to make a cafe-racer style tank strap out of. I really didn't take much pictures of the in between process because since it's quite boring. It was literally just cutting it to length and sewing it.

Thanks! No one can tell that the welds were actually bird poo If I grind it am I right?

**UPDATE 1/3/2016** The cable end thing came off. Attemp at own risk.** I didn't take much pictures since it was uninteresting but started work on all the cables and wires. I like to keep things as neat as possible so I trimmed the throttle cable by cutting, per usual, and then soldering on the...

I moved on to make the chain tensioner and realized that I could integrate the exhaust hanger. Test fit. The clearance at the rear tire was very narrow... I was wanting to go with wider tires but seems like it'll be an extra hassle to make that fit. I'll stick with the tires I have for now.

Got a few days worth of pictures to share. It was a pretty lazy weekend. Solely for looks, I decided to use a Puch exhaust / baffle for my motor. Chopped to re-angle / lengthen some of the parts using the remains of my handlebar, it was conveniently the same OD. ID was slightly smaller but...

Spot the rookie mistake. And yes, I had to tear down the whole motor over again. Anyways, should I keep the Patina-Orange gas tank or paint it the same color as the rest of the bike? Decisions decisions...

Made a little something today. Feel free to copy the idea if you like... I don't plan on producing anything I make. Also made a tool to match the combustion chamber to the piston shape. Reshaped combustion chamber... To the best of my abilities with the tools I have. After clay...
