    the economy

Currently self-employed. Not making any money to speak of at the moment but... Spent the last 5 years behind the wheels of various Peterbilts, now behind the wheels of a John Deere, Massey Ferguson or Kubota. 54 acre pecan farm that I'm getting back in shape since my 86 year old father in law...

WANTED: Film Photography stuff! Cameras? FILM! 35mm +Others!

Ah, guess I saw this too late then... stumbled across my father in law's old camera that takes ONLY panoramic shots. And i know there is an old daguerotype in the farmhouse attic... Kind of addictive isn't it? We found my late brother in law's old German 35mm and an ammo box full of film...

My $37 1954 Schwinn Ladies balloon tire!

That's looking pretty good. As for your fenders... my current project is a 37ish Henderson that sat in the cattle barn from 1958 until this spring. 3M stripping wheel gets the worst of the crud off, and the metal is pretty sound under the original fender tips and striping. Rust converter, then...

    Had to post...

I think I could fit that blue thing in the back of my pickup... with room to spare...

    Excelsior??

I'll have to get the old guy to ride it this weekend. My father in law put thousands of miles on that old rust bucket. He can't remember if he bought it in 37, 38 or 39... I cut him some slack, he's 86 years old. It will be a rider tomorrow night. Ugly as sin and missing the truss rods (off to...

    1959 Schwinn

Leave it as is. Repainting that one would be wrong on so many levels. If it was a rusted up hulk, knock yourself out. If "she" wants an old bike with new paint, tell "her" to go buy one. I think there is room in my doghouse if you need it... :P

Let's see your bike in front of...

My Cleveland Welding built Firestone in the same barn. No idea what year the bike is from. Or when the rest of the parts disappeared, I used to have all of them... :? Both are getting their new wheels tomorrow! The crusty old Henderson will be ridable this weekend.

    Excelsior??

Looks a lot like my late 30s Henderson with different handlebars. Rims are correct for the era, mine wears the factory originals. Canted steering lock makes it post-36. Mine is a drop stand, still has the clip on the rear fender. Here's mine as a reference, parked since the 50s... has been in...

    1937 Schwinn

Looks like one of mine, but mine was red with white trimmed in green. Same frame as my Henderson. I hope mine comes out half that nice when done, the original hubs and hoops are at the lbs right now for new spokes. Nice looking bike.

Let's see your bike in front of...

1930s Henderson in a 1925 beef barn. Three guesses what it was parked on...

    Wal-Mart sells cool bikes????

The only reason I'm doing the Henderson is it has been in the wife's family since it was new. Well, and her grandfather rode police Henderson and Excelsior motorcycles. And I used to ride a Henderson single cylinder motorcycle. Keep the bars low and raise the seat all the way and the LaJolla...

    Schwinn Racer military build

If you do your letters in flat black or flat light yellow, starting with *USN- whatever you choose, it could have SeaBee roots. All we did when I was in was sit on the beach drinking beer, get in fights with fleet bums, get in fights with the Marine security detachment at our base (Spain)... But...

    Wal-Mart sells cool bikes????

I think they carry a few decent enough ones. I have a 2011 LaJolla that I stuck the cheapy creepy "Scwinn" rack on. Have some ammo cans I'm painting black and argent to match the frame. Adding the peaked fenders from my Firestone (CWC) because they match the LaJolla rims. Fenders on the stock...

How do YOU find your bikes??

Pikes Place is supposed to be a local farmer's market but is mostly repackaged cheap import junk. Sanitation is a big issue as well, the market is turn of the century old growth timber beams that for years were left unpainted and uncleaned. And the rough cut timber floors are unsealed. Again...

How do YOU find your bikes??

Whoever told you Memphis is a food town flat out lied to you. Unless you just really like grease. Great food in the surrounding area but Memphis proper... I don't eat in the city. As far as culture goes, most of the "culture" here is found in petri dishes... And most of the local bike...
