Re: 24" Firestone - Bad (new) chain?? Sorry, I did not read all the way through. But your chain ring might be a hair out of round. That would cause it to tense and then loosen up like you described. It should not effect the performance though.

WOW! great collection man. Can you shed some more info on the 3rd bike? the one labeled high key. Is it bare metal? also, what size are the wheels?
