    1950 or 1951 (?) CWC Roadmaster (?)

In my current spare time, I'm working to polish the remaining paint and metal underneath to a nice shine. Plan in to spray clear and get this CWC back on the road in the form of a well-built rat. As this is turning from an I.D. question to the actual build, be looking for a build thread soon...

    1950 or 1951 (?) CWC Roadmaster (?)

Thanks for all the great input! Inspired by both the mention of the W.F. "Super" and '50 Roadmaster. I was able to work at stripping parts of the frame and look a bit further into possibly identifying the badge. The photos below might help in confirming this (as I'm still not at all certain)...

    1950 or 1951 (?) CWC Roadmaster (?)

Picked up my first (and VERY crusty) CWC frame earlier this Fall for $30. Came with a set of 20-gauge wheels, a straight-trussed Shockmaster fork, and a coat of (lo-and-behold) spray undercoating over everything, but no badge (see 2nd photo). Stripping this "finish" away reveals a pitted but...

    "1942 SCHWINN VICTORY BIKE"

That's how the situation seemed to me: and interesting example built at the right time, and which seemed incomplete, but rideable. Glad to hear what others have gotten/sold theirs for - it's still avaiable, but I'd never see myself going over the $75-100 mark for it, which means I'd probably...

    "1942 SCHWINN VICTORY BIKE"

What exactly am I looking at here, and is it really anything all that "special"/rare? I've never seen/heard of a "Schwinn Victory Bike". Of course, the title, basic black paint, and lackluster look leaves me thinking about home-front production in the time of the Second World War, so I'm sure...

    "Slimline" Tanks

tyler perk has the right idea. I'm thinking it's worth about $60 to me. May call back this week to offer around that much. Tank looks to be worth $40-60 in the condition it's in. Missing the horn, but otherwise intact.

    "Slimline" Tanks

The man's asking $85. Not certain what to do. o_O Great start to a project, but a small start - lots I'd have to put into it to get it built right. Anyone pay around that for one of these before?

    "Slimline" Tanks

The tank is a white and chrome model, with just the right amount of pitting and rust. Hope to give the guy a call after work today. I'll let you know, though.

    "Slimline" Tanks

If I pick it up, it may be sitting for a while - not a lot of extra time or $$ right now for another project right now. Been mentally picturing a full-sized muscle bike, with a banana seat, one of those bent springer forks, ape hangers, and a rear slick. Something with a lot of...

    "Slimline" Tanks

That's what I was thinking. Pretty straight-forward there. Wouldn't mind the single-speed, but I've always wanted to build a bike with one of those neat two-speeds.

    "Slimline" Tanks

Stumbled across a red Schwinn Deluxe American of unknown vintage in the wilds of Indiana this past weekend, sans headlight, horn, and any racks, but with the original "Slimline" tank attached. Condition is maybe a 4/10 - not rideable, but not earthworm fodder, yet. What I'm interested in knowing...

    ISO 1950's 24" Schwinn front wheel/wheelset

Seems as though none other than the late Sheldon Brown's Harris Cyclery has them in both "Gumwall" and "Blackwall": the ISO size for the 24" x 1-3/8" S5 is "547," so these should work, right? "...should work..." http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/tires/547.html

    ISO 1950's 24" Schwinn front wheel/wheelset

Seems like tires are a constant headache with older Schwinns. The last set I had to hunt for was a pair of 27" x 1-1/4" white walls. That was fun. :headbang:

    ISO 1950's 24" Schwinn front wheel/wheelset

Mark: I'm not certain. First time I've messed with a 24" frame. I had planned to check this weekend, and unfortunately didn't get the chance. It may be in my best interest (for sanity's sake) to find a more modern 24" wheel that will fit - that's definitely crossed my mind. A.S.BOLTNUT - is that...
