Test fitting the rear-end drop, using the front wheel because the rear is currently in pieces. Got this idea from reading the "How To" forum. In this case, took the brackets that wrapped around the baskets, cut, drilled, and bolted them on.(Thanks RRB) It still needs some tweaking, like a larger bolt...

    Huffy express

I finally found the serial # on my Huffy. It starts w/a 2.Tires are REALLY rotted and all I could make out was 26 ??5.They're pretty skinny so I assume it's 26X1.75. So what have I got? 62? 72?

    Question about tire width

Measuring outside edge to outside edge, they are approx. 1 1/4 inches wide. and by "safely" I just mean won't blow off the rim when I air it up.....or ride it over potholes.

    Question about tire width

The front tire on my bike,a Huffy Express of unknown vintage,is 24x 1 3/8, the back is so far gone that I can't make out the size, but I assume it to be the original, probably 26x1.75. The question is,what is the maximum width i can safely put on these rims?
