    '84 Schwinn Cruiser Kickstand Question

I have a small assortment of headbadges and the black one I believe came off this bike does not have an ID #. Actually none of them have an ID. It's finally done. Don't look at the Chicago style welds - they're bogus. I broke a bottom weld tapping out the bearing cups (even with a brass...

    '84 Schwinn Cruiser Kickstand Question

Another correction: After a good sanding, serial plainly clear and it starts with ES80xxxx Now I haven't a clue what year it is (definitely not Chicago).

    '84 Schwinn Cruiser Kickstand Question

Correction: it's actually a 1985 (I think). The serial number is stamped on the bottom of the crank and it begins with E5...... E would be the the fifth month, May, and 5 for 1985. As far as tell tale parts, I originally started with a bare frame and a bent tubular fork.

    '84 Schwinn Cruiser Kickstand Question

Here's that shot of the bike. I think I'm going to go with the 27.5 X 9" rise handlebars. Bike will be painted Metallic Cobalt Blue similar to the Mustang behind it. The Speedster chainguard had to be shortened and shifted a bit to the left. A new rear chainguard mounting tab was welded on...

    '84 Schwinn Cruiser Kickstand Question

Hi All, Finally getting around to putting my '84 Schwinn Cruiser together. Even treating it to a lay back seat post, Bendix yellow band 2 speed and replacing the tubular fork with a chrome springer! This is the coaster brake model with the 26x2.125 tires. I believe this one was made in...

    Bendix Yellow repair part

Hi, Does anyone have any leads to finding a replacement bearing retainer AB-20 for my Bendix 2-speed yellow band. Mine is in poor shape and making popping noises when coasting. I can't find any on eBay. Is there anything I can substitute? Can I use loose balls instead of a retainer? Thanks!!

Banana seats and adult back ends

I recently set up a Schwinn 24" Typhoon for myself as a "Stingray" with a banana seat, shocked sissy bar, springer fork, 24 X 2.125 Sulky slick in rear, 24 X 1.75 brick in front, and 16" tall handlebars. I'm 5'7" and 150lbs. While a blast to ride, it didn't take too long to have a sore butt...

    80-ish Schwinn Cruiser ID

Hi, Looking to ID this Schwinn Cruiser frame I have. The rear of the chainguard mounts on the seat stay. It had the obvious weld at the headtube unlike the smooth brazing of earlier Schwinns. Oddly it has the serial number at the bottom of the pedal crank. ES80XXXX. Any idea what year it...

Is the spacer below the lower bearing cup? Cool looking ride - would love to see a full picture of it.
