    Trash find

Thanks for the info. It definitely looks like this bike was pieced together at some point. I'll checkout oldtenspeed gallery. Thanks again!

    Trash find

Thanks for the info! I just looked up pictures of a bunch of old Raleighs. It might be, but the only thing throwing me off is the shape of the metal bit in the fork (see pic below). In the bit of searching I did, I can't find a similar fork.

    Trash find

Found this bike last week while taking a trash walk (also found a mint coleman camping burner/stove). It's been painted over so many times so there is no info on the frame. The gears are made by Cyclo B'ham. Any info would be appreciated. Not sure if I am going to sell it or turn it into a...

Removing Crank on Murray Single Speed Cruiser

Good call...It was all about patience and knowing to turn it clockwise. It came off without too much of a struggle. I just needed to walk away from it for a minute.

Removing Crank on Murray Single Speed Cruiser

I feel like this should be easier than it is, but this is the first crank that I have taken off and it doesn't seem to want to budge. I soaked the nut (shown in the pic below) with liquid wrench and it won't move. I've tried clockwise and counter clockwise. Am I doing something wrong...

Found a Schwinn Cruiser in the Trash

GodHatesCleveland- Thanks for posting the thread with your bike. Great work! And, great point about this being a good bike to learn and take some chances. I always forget that the big stores of years past used to sell higher quality items than they do today. Like the old Sears rebadged...

Found a Schwinn Cruiser in the Trash

Thanks for all the info. I just did a quick tune up and took it for a ride. it's a pretty fun bike. As a newbie, I think that this find is going to be a perfect bike to start learning...First, I need to get rid of that blue paint, the handle bars, and the seat...Then we will see what it...

Found a Schwinn Cruiser in the Trash

Good points, but I always view department store brand bikes as inferior due to the quality of their parts. However, it will be a fun bike to ride. What are the signs that this is most likely a Murray/ Thanks again, wilbr

Found a Schwinn Cruiser in the Trash

...., based on the shape of the frame and the color, I thought it looked like a Schwinn that I have seen before. heck, while I might be disappointed, I can't really complain about a trash find. So, does anyone else have an idea on what brand it might be?

Yeah, you have to have your Masters of Library & Information Science. There might be some exceptions in some small towns though.

Found a Schwinn Cruiser in the Trash

Hi all, I was driving home from work the other day and I found this bike in someone's trash. (What a great way to end the workday!) I haven't done any work to it (or tried to peel off the stickers or the tape around the chain yet). The serial from the stem that leads to the handlebars reads...
