There's just a ghost of red metalflake and then a coat of Dupla Color Effex which is a micro prism flake in a clear coat. Hard to photograph.

You know what the stupid threads are on the cable end of the indicator chain that goes into the hub? 5-40. Sturmey Archer in their infinite wisdom used threads that mate to virtually NOTHING. It's one of the last bits I need to finish this build (for now). I'm brainstorming a way to connect the cable to the indicator chain.

Wicks Bike Shop in Grant Park might have what you need. I haven't made it there yet myself but an article in the Daily Journal said he has a few hundred vintage bikes. If you can get just a barrel, I have everything else needed to put a cable together.

I've yet to check them out. I've got an idea and I'll see if I can make it work.
 
I like the raw rails too, but you can't go wrong with those angled racks.
Nice lights too.

Woohoo, it shifts and is kinda quick for a heavy middle weight. It's a love hate thing with me and Spaceliners. I want to love the lines and details but like most cool 60's frames, it's just too small to be a grown man's bike.

That's a pretty rad Spaceliner. Being 6'2 I have the same problem with most old balloon tire bikes. I just fit tall stems as they are cheaper than a visit to my osteopath.

Ah. For me it's a leg issue. I can't ride comfortably with my knees up high. 30" from crank center to seat top is fine in any direction recumbent style or laid back. Taller bikes work well too, I'm only a little long legged but yeah the ol' knees don't bend as easy as they used to... one of my most comfy bikes is Harlequin and I ride it often.

The rear wheel has been swapped out for a SA three speed coaster and I rigged the shifter to be on the steering column, it's a 3 on the tree now...

That’s one crazy creation right there.

I now buy only larger frames. Fitting the layback post on my small framed build off bike was a revelation. It was the first time I fitted one to a bike.
