My wife called and said she was bringing home an old frame. I had visions of a straight bar Schwinn or 50's Rollfast in mind when this bare frame showed up. I didn't complain, that might stop her from picking up a good frame in the future. I'll keep encouraging her. "Wow! that was only 400 pesos? That's a great deal!". 400 pesos is about 8 dollars, she spent 6 bucks too much. If a good frame shows up, then it's all worth it. Now she wants to go get parts for it from the bike shop. I'm making a list and will have a well stocked shop, and another bike ready to ride.
They call these 24" bikes lady bikes and they've been around a long time. They are transportation for whole families and they see a lot of miles. Originally from Japan, they are common all over Asia. Usually with cottered cranks and a full wraparound chain guard and fenders.

Hmmm I would chuck on some slicks, get a long road bike fork for a nice chopper stance, bmx bars for relaxed sit up position, nice spring seat for comfort, chuck on a rear rack with bear crate for grocery shopping(gota be utilitarian) horn for the crazy traffic, and do I hear sticker bombing is called for

Yeah it's worth the investment. Also helps you because she's involved; it becomes an "our" thing instead of just "your" thing.

One more splatter paint job then that's it, again! Only two colors this time. It'll get clear coat this afternoon. I found the correct 24" forks online and will match them when they show up. No one in town had any 24" forks.
