I learn something new every day, "dispensation". I used to tell my students: "Everyone knows at least one thing you don't, so always listen to whoever is talking, even a homeless guy on the street. And remember, you know at least one thing most other people don't, it goes both ways".
As for Scurf, my welder suggested a metal plate, so I think it'll have a 6" wide x 19" long step that curves upward the last 3 or 4 inches at the front following the brace and then getting welded in.

I did mine for Build Off 12...There was nothing in the rules about "pedals", back then...It started out as a bike.

With a few days until the Annual Build Off, I needed something to do, so Scurf gets another upgrade. It's using skinny tires front and rear for a better and easier ride. The yellow foot pad didn't match up to the red black and white colors, so I painted it like EVH's guitar. Someone here painted their bike those colors a year or two ago, I can't remember exactly. I need to touch it up, bolt it back on and maybe ride tomorrow.
I got an early start to get in a ride before the heat index hit 90, but it was 9am by the time I was done.
Along with the board, I added a disc brake from the leftover stuff I had from the Orange Crusher.
This is a pretty far cry from the original Scurf shown here,
so it gets a name change, Frankenscoot.

Love it Wildcat!
I really liked the bamboo version (I'm a tiki nut), but this version is just as good!
I still have the Bamboozle frame. It's probably a permanent fixture hanging up in the shop, it's a difficult frame to work with or ride.
I found the kickstand while digging through everything for the upcoming build off.
Scurf lost a lot of weight!
Previously it rode like a spring and had to be walked uphill because of the weight. Now it's fairly rigid and swift. I'm able to foot it up the incline now. The wife didn't feel confident about me riding one handed on a home made thing to get a vid, so it has a camera holder now. I used my phone for a video but a camera is needed that won't shake.
Is that a foot actuated bell? Nice idea!
