Gonna look sick with my moto bar...
Some old shin rippersView attachment 213162View attachment 213168
Gratuitous Canadiana pic with the autumn leaves!
A silly little seatView attachment 213163View attachment 213164made in japan, might not be gross enough for Gas Money.
Rando Haro stem and MX grips because reasons I can't recall:View attachment 213167
Stems and barsView attachment 213170View attachment 213171View attachment 213169i still don't know if I can bring myself to use drop bars, but they were free. The real reason was that stem

Your parts pile has gotten much bigger since we been hanging. Just keep those hidden the gate keeper won't let us play together

The Lovely Ms Dice just returned from a trip to the big big city. Trash can find:

Still in the wrapper! I've got an old set of trucks and wheels that are going to look pretty good on there

1990 Norco Bigfoot. Chromoly main triangle. Difficult to explain just how pink the thing is. Apparently, they only made the triple triangle style frame for a short period before the GT lawyers shut things down...
Frame is a monstrous size, 22.5" seatpost center to center, but there's a few nice pieces I'll be able to harvest before sending it on.
Sweet exage brakes in the unusual black finish, will end up on my build off bike, Daddy Long Legs

This cute little pair will go in the bin, it'll make a future build pretty easy

And then there's the stem, my goodness, it's a Ritchey Force
IMG_20230425_165630703.jpg

Tall enough that it might work for a drop bar conversion. I'm sure tom would appreciate that

That black headset is Tange, I believe, and would look killer on RockRat if I can make it fit. There's also a pair of arayas with exage hubs but I didn't take any pictures.
Of course I haven't mentioned that fork yet either. Beautiful tapered straight chromoly legs, but there's a hitch. The steering tube is ridiculously long, so I'd have to cut and rethread it for it to work, and then the next guy has the impossible task of finding a fork to fit the mile high frame. I have a decision to make here .

Not bad for free on the side of the road, I'd say

Garbage picker 🤣
Bottom bracket is either sealed Shimano or tange

I know, there's one just like it in the Nishiki. Trying to decide how far I feel like stripping this thing. You know I'd need tools to get that out ...
That sounds like a perfect excuse to buy that crank puller and BBT-22 you've been dreaming about.

If you don't mind taking the gamble, Temu has a knock-off tool for less than $3, free shipping--that's crazy!

What if they're attached to riser bars? You should see how much this is angering them over at the "proper mountain bike" forum View attachment 229218

Since that Fisher, a couple of drop bikes have caught my eye...
View attachment 229219
This one is 3.5x more expensive than the Fisher was, and not as cool.

Those are two wide dropbars should be just wide enough to be flipped up to carry a 24 of beer.

Hey Matti. That Norco looks to have the same group set my Shogun originally had. Not too flash but it works well. Decent pickup for free! What Arayas are they? I think mine were VP-20

I think many were VP-20
I think that is what they are (I checked, and recognized a model name, but now I forget). They're different profile than others that I have, look more modern, but they still say Made in Japan, so they're not the later repops.
