Hey guys; found this old scout local here at a pretty fair price.

-the bike has 26” wheels: I’m looking at the bike for parts and wheels are an important part of the deal.

What are tire options for this? Any one know? -are these wheels the same size as Schwinn, (S6?) so, super limited options or another more common size wheel I’d have a broader selection of tires?

-I’d ask the owner, but getting the 26” info from him was pretty difficult…. No way he could get the iso size on the tire….

I have these I just got for my Schwinn Deluxe Twinn tandem 5 speed. Not to mention about the best price you'll find on new ones. And if you're like me whitewalls make everything better.

I can't really tell from the picture, but it looks like those say 37-590 on the sidewall? If so, they won't fit a Schwinn rim. They need to say 37-597 to fit a Schwinn rim. The 37 part isn't critical (that's the width) but the 597 is, that's the bead diameter. The 26x1 3/8 part doesn't mean much of anything. That's a "kinda sorta probably somewhere close to this number under the right conditions" number.

On all tires, the bead diameter is the critical number. Everything else can vary a bit his way or that, but the bead diameter has to be right on. Close is close enough for width, but diameter isn't negotiable.

BMX Guru has whitewalls for the Schwinn rims at $20 each. Shipping is free if you're ordering $100 worth of stuff though. They also have blackwall and gumwall in the same size.

I'll double check that when I install them. If not I have other bikes I can put them on so no loss.
