The bike is looking really great.

If you decide to cut into those integrated levers be aware that you will most likely find some minor porosity that spoils the perfect polished finish when you’re done.

Both of the ones that I did ended up on the Lengthy Insanity bike. One as the rear brake lever and one as the shifter mount.

The porosity that I uncovered, however , was very small, and barely noticeable on the bike.

Your mileage may vary.

The rear wheel is coming together.

Got all the “accoutrements” added to the console. The window, the label and I recreated the wood trim. Originally the trim was attached via a tin panel that attached to the console, but it was just ruined with rust. (See first page for pic) so I used a wood grain decal and cut it to fit.

I decided last week to get a new brake lever as I figured I’d destroy the Avid trying to polish it. So I found an all silver one. If nothing else, I can just keep it silver. So once I get that I can set up and adjust the brakes. I also found that I didn’t have a nice red brake T-handle. I must have used that for a previous bike. So I’m fixing up one I have. That’ll go on about the same time as the brakes and I’ll be done.

The two biggest problems I had with the shifter were unresolved for years. I need to say that without @JNOACK this build wouldn't be happening. I sent Jay the remnants of the indicator cable, and he recreated it, including make the correct barrel end size, which isn't made anymore. When the plastic jockey broke, Jay 3D printed a replacement!

Lastly, I had to recreate spring which makes the whole indicator system work. This was done with considerable trial and error, but I finally got one working.

Springs are hard to fabricate and still look good and work right. Bravo on your new spring.

This is a fabulous bike. Just love your build idea and execution. Great Job.
