Actually, got some advice over on The Cabe about some specific spoke specs (spoke head washers, 13 g spokes, Sapim reduction nipples) and the BBP said they did not have that specific stuff, so will order that in. Going to verify length today.

Brake levers, shifter, pedals rough fitted. The left brake lever that I got for next to nothing from the Boise Bike project is bent to little bit so it has to be mounted twisted higher than I like, but I’ll probably just look for another used brake lever along the way. And just use it for now. The petals are not the rat cage tape, but will be comfortable and are in good shape and spin well, and are KKT so legit that way I guess. ;) close enough vibe standard. No purity test.

Got wheels in. These will be torn down and rebuilt around the drum brake hubs I have, using the Sturmey Archer front, and the Atom rear. I need to research now and figure out spokes. The Atom won't show up until maybe June 9, so will be waiting on that. I have pedals coming soon also. KKT old skool flats. I guess I will spend some time this weekend putting everything else on I can and then wait for the hub so I can build those wheels and put it all together.

I will be in Boise part of next week so maybe I can get started on the front wheel at the Boise Bike Project with their tools and learn from that. Anyone have a source for stainless spokes for a ratrod Klunker project?View attachment 234943View attachment 234944
I got the spokes for mine from pork chop bmx, 32 cents each for silver, cut and threaded to whatever length you need. they also have black for 45 cents and a bunch of colors for 65, showed up in a few days

I have personally had great experiences with Pork Chop. I’m on the east coast and usually get my order delivered in about 48 hours. I have also purchased spokes from Amazon. You can get 36 spokes plus nipples for about $13. I did get slightly burned once with Amazon. One of the spokes was about 3mm too short.

Second application of boiled linseed oil for good measure.Old wheels put back on so I can rack it and Hall over to Boise Bike Project in a couple days. Not much more I can do here until I get it over to the bicycle co-op. I guess I can start tearing down the other wheels, maybe I’ll do that tomorrow. Going to go ride my other bike around a short mountain bike loop in a break in the weather
