It was just leased. I didn't think that sounded high enough for something they owned. It sounds like it just did information (like a rolling kiosk) and surveillance with a chaperone.
That’s cheap. You want expensive look into AGDS (shot spotter) technology. On average it costs about $75,000 per MILE of coverage. That’s just operations and management. Doesn’t include installation, equipment, and cost of the responses

No the frightening part is our justice system that won’t prosecute and incarcerate the criminals ! If we keep this up ,we as a society will be forced to take matters into our own hands to protect what is ours.

But now it intrudes on every part of our lives, from whether they can abort us at birth, to whether they will euthanize us when we are old.
Yet fewer and fewer people are allowed to talk about it, because the discussions cannot remain peaceful. The offended parties become outlandish, scream, yell, and scorch the earth, until the law enforcement they despise arrives to restore peace.
This is not a fault of the system.
Canadians are trying to enforce anti-speech laws with prison time right now. The US isnt’t far behind.
But let’s not talk about it.
