Anybody know anything about this rig 19?? Takara Scout? Really a decent bike it was left at the curb for free......don't threaten me with a good time!!

classic design. wide fork crown, cantis, extra long wheel base. Will ride like a cruiser with gears. A bit of a copy of the early Stumpjumpers, Ritchies, etc.

Looks like a clone of the early Stumpjumper. If you are going to copy something, why not the big boy? Still going strong, but a little bit different after forty something years of evolution

If it is wearing it's original Shimano parts, date code can be found on the back or bottom, build date can be deduced. I'd guess mid to late 80s
Thanks for the information it does have Shimano thumbies I'll check em, front derailleur Suntour, rear derailleur is Sun Race. See attached photo for serial number.

From what I've read on Takara, that "4" shows it to be a 1984 bike.
