I am hoping someone with easy access to a girls Spaceliner frame can do me a solid. I want to use the rat trap springer off a girls Spaceliner on the bike I am working on now, which is also made by Murray. The head tube measures 5 1/4 inches without bearing cups, or 5 7/8 inches at the outsides of the cups. How long is the head tube of a girls Spaceliner for either of those measurements? I’d hate to drive almost an hour to pick something up off Marketplace that isn’t going to work. More accurately, I’d hate to give my wife a reason to say “You drove all the way out there and bought that thing and you can’t use it?” 😆

Thanks for any help 👍

I have one I can measure. It might take a day or so to get too it.

PS search for the "Ultimate Spaceliner guide" on the www.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Is that the big thread on The CABE? I checked that thread and didn't find anything definitive, except that the girls bike I am looking to rob the fork from is a 1965 Deluxe based on the serial number (seller posted a pic). That's actually a really great resource for those bikes...

5.33 Inches head tube length on both that I have.
