A little more work done. Brakes, cranks, and bear trap pedals. I need to route the cables and add the chain.
Routed the cables making sure they won't bind when the bike is folded.
Adjusted the gears and brakes and went for a test ride. Just a few minor adjustments on the brakes and it's off-road worthy. The gearing worked out fine. It's 20 degrees hotter outside than down in the shop, heat index of 95 at noon. I'll take another ride in the morning.

I folded it to see how compact it is. With those big tires it's still a large thing. It may or may not fit in the back of our vehicle.

To fit in the back easier, you could pop off the front tire when taking it places.
Even non folders, anytime I've put a bike in the trunk of the old dart, or dropped the seats in the wife's challenger amd used its trunk, I take off the front tire for easier fitment and ease to put it in a car
The new crankset arrived and I tried it out. It'll match up when the bike gets painted.

I took it all apart for painting. I still can't believe this frame was only 7 bucks.
I'm using silver for a primer coat, then seeing how dark the blue will be. I have several shades of blue and can add white to lighten it up if need be.
I have a roll of 2mm black pinstripe tape ordered. With small black dots will mimic the riveted look of a WW2 plane.

My favorite builds are the ones that start off cheap. That way, there are more funds for all the modifications I want to do! And you got one heck of a starting point for $7! Can't wait to see the Wildcat paintjob come together!
I also ordered some bullet holes.
The silver undercoat didn't darken the blue much, it has the first coat of blue on and is just the right shade I was looking for.
