Before and after, 1939 Schwinn DX. It had been fixed up by someone at some point to look like a Hoppy motorbike. I imagine some kid in the '50s painting up his Dad's old bike to resemble the Hopalong Cassidy with the Whizzer engine that he really wanted for Christmas!

Where did you get the red wheel set?
Great site you have here, I am loving it as well as getting ideas. The rims are an Araya 36H knock-off in anodised red from eBay and then had to buy a new front hub as didn't realise at the time that the original front was a 28H until I was lacing it up with new spokes..... and the tyres are just plain 20x1.75 whitewalls from SaintSide, a store in Melbourne that has quite a range of dragster/lowrider parts.

Matt (or is it Mark?) at Saintside is pretty cool, I have bought stuff from him in the past...

I thought I had posted a few of my before and after projects here but, I don't see them. Lots of pages and some great stuff posted.

Let's see...here is a 51 Dial-a-Ride I found in West Va. Didn't do much but, alot of cleaning and rubbing /polishing compound then a little wax.
I did repaint the frame...had no choice.

Another fun revival project was this 41 Westfield. Had to replace the fenders. Got lucky on finding a good match.
Lots of compounding and a little wax. My fingers were hurting for weeks after this project but, and amazing transformation I think.

Here is a project that almost didn't happen. I'm all about the "Revival"...bringing them back to thier original look without modifications and repaint. If I can save the original paint then that's the mission.
But, this one sat in my stock pile of projects just begging to be worked on. I kept passing over it and even went out and got others to do because I didn't trust myself on doing him justice.

But, I put on my "RRB" big pants on and went at it.
Could not save the OG paint or even the green repaint.
I always liked the "bare metal" look but, just didn't have the gonads to try it.
Glad I did.
Spent some money getting all the correct parts. The truss rod bracket is supposed to have a waterfall badge but, I wanted trussrods.
