I know this didn't create much of stir when first posted but, I really like this bike. I think I get a better feeling bringing a bike back from the scrap heap than I do making a shiny new custom. The bars are Wald and match the originals exactly. The grips are repro. It also got a new chain...
I ran across the post a few times but, did not open it because I thought it was just another mass produced Harley bike. Wow! Was I wrong. Great lines and cool construction method. I would love to see more pictures of how the drive train works.
Check-out this site for Nishiki info. The bike you have is a lower level bike but, would make a great fixie or path racer.

Well, here are the "almost finished" shots  I would still like to add a rear fender and fake oil tank. The materials for the fuel tank should be here next week and I have some custom decals for it.
I would have to go with a Basman but I question whether it is production or not. My second favorite is the Felt Chief and third would be the Electra Flying Sue.
Thanks for the offer. I really do appreciate the help. It seems that every time I tried to get materials and tools to do the tank it fell through. I have a 16ga. 3 1/2" dia. tube on order. It should be here at the beginning of next week. I ordered one about six weeks ago and it never...
Not much to look at but I'm making some progress. The tank is still giving me headaches. I picked up some repro grips at Wauseon. Jezusjonz made me a killer headbadge. Thanks Jezus!

Great looking bike! I love what you are doing with it. Have you considered nickle plate? I think that would be correct for the age of the bike and might even be a little less $ than chrome.
Spread the frame out and trimmed the bars and fork. The grips are from Felt. I need one of those off-set rear sprockets and the only place (http://www.choppersus.com/store/) that lists them is sold out.
Still making slow progress. I need to attach the horizontal rail to the brace and then I'm calling the seat done. Next challenge will be the tank. I have some sheet metal on the way for that. I hope to pick-up some Indian grips and maybe a repro head badge at the Wauseon antique motorcycle...
