I was going to buy an aluminum billet shifter, to match the polished look, but I decided to just make one out of junk I had on-hand. I found that the cap to a martini shaker fit firmly over the rubber perfectly. I then welded on a spoon handle that I had in my stainless scrap pile, and came up...

I plan on continuing this build in the future with more details, more parts, etc., but for now, she rides, she's whole, and I'll have to call it good-enough-for-now.

Well, with the build-off coming to a close, and other priorities, I think I'll have to call this bike done-for-now. It rolls, it rides, it's whole, it's just not polished with the cool details.

So, I cut the opening in the chain stays at the drops more, and rewelded it tight. The shifter attachment then fit, but not the black plastic cover. I just cut the cover to sit flush against the tubing, and that did it. A lot of work to get that shifter cable attached. So it's now a roller...

Finished the frame, and started putting on all its final parts. One issue continues with the right side rear drop out. I hole-sawed out around where the axle would land, and even filled in the tubing there to make it look good. And yet, the hole I made is still not enough for the 3 speed...

I like where this is going, and I'll be following, although you should move this over to the regular "builds" category, since it doesn't meet the "scratch built" rules. I look forward to progress.

Swapped out for some different parts, and put together a little idea I've had for a while. I got these two stainless steel mugs that are bicycle themed a while ago, and had the thought to mount them like a little faux-motor, and they would be bottle/can holders for when riding. Don't know if...

Maybe. My original thinking was that a seat would line up with the top tube, so no pointy bits to smack into.

I think the bottom is looking okay, but I'm not sure about how that top tube comes down. I didn't want to just do another straight tube at a 45 or whatever, but it looks a bit weird. I'll leave it for now, and can change my mind later, if I wish.

I'm using two lugged diamond frames to make a cool boardtracker. I've used this technique twice before, but never with lugged frames, and I'm hoping that I can give this one some extra touches of style, while keeping it simple. I have no idea if I will finish by the deadline, but since I'm...

Great build! Small aside, but that RV park looks like a beautiful oasis from what the rest of Berlin looks like! Not that Berlin is ugly, but it looks very outside of the city.
