Two big updates in these photos. Okay, three. -One, the fork is welded out, and looking good. -Two, this is where the seat will be positioned, so that I don't have to worry about unintentional wheelies. Rear bracket will be moved up. -Three, you can now see which bars I plan to use. They are...

While I ponder on what to do about the seat, I thought I'd handle up front. I wanted a blade fork, because it'll be different than the standard triple trees you see on customs, and because blade forks are thinner, for slipping this bike in the back seat of the car. I took one I had in the...

Well, this is where I really wanted the seat to live, but as you can guess, I just can't get it to stop from flipping up, even if I weigh down the front end. So, reluctantly, I'll have to cut off the seat, and move it forward.

I love the look of flipped bikes, if that's what you're doing. If not, then I'll check back to see the surprise.

Got the frame mostly done, just the seat attachments, and to weld out a few things that are only tacked now.

Seat stays are on! Looks windswept sitting still.

It's a danger, but if it's too bad, I'll address it, and figure out a way to move the seat up in a way that looks good.

You're on your way to having the best class 2. This is VERY similar to an idea I've had for a future build, so I'll be excited to watch this.

Cut in the BB, and got it welded out.

Thought I'd go ahead and post a little sketch of my plan.

The rims are 3". I have a Harbor Freight tubing roller, hand cranked. Nothing fancy.

The main portion of the frame is all welded and smoothed out. Next will be cutting in the BB, then working on the stays.

After I started this thread, I realized that since it's Mädchen, and Hähnchen, etc., it probably would be Rädchen.

Added more to the body of the frame. I made a rookie mistake, and cut the bottom tube too short, so that I can't join the down tube with it as smoothly as the rest. I have to tee one into the other, which is not the way I prefer to make corners. But it was 100 degrees in my shop, and I was...

Those wheels and tires are the ones I plan on using, and yes, the chainstay/chainring/wheel placement is going to be very tight, and very coordinated. I've got a plan, and I hope it works.

I've played around a couple of times with the idea of a short custom bike, made to put easily in the back of a car. The intent is that if I'm working out of town, and run across a ride, I'll have a cool custom that I can whip out and join in with. My donkey bike fits this niche now, but I wanted...

Not quite the same thing, as that's an AV Customs frame, of which many have been produced. I point this out, but I'm not saying I have a problem with him using the frame. Go for it.
