    What's your "go-to" bike?

Good question. I have many bikes for varied uses, a cycletruck when I need one, a vintage or two when the occasion calls for it, a couple of freak bikes of different types, but my go-to is The Glider. Nice amount of stretch, three speed Nexus, comfortable for several miles around town.

Punk brothers (pair of custom rigid mtbs)

Great looking frame, though as a builder, I wish they'd have laid back the seat tube just a bit to match the angle of the head tube.

Well, fabrication of the frame and tank are done! Also, I took the time to fabricate myself a tomahawk stem, because why not? I threw all of the parts I'd been saving for it on there, and got her riding smooth. Well, most of the parts. There're a few small doodads, and I want to find a better...

No, I'll have the whole thing powder coated. Right now, I'm thinking black for the frame, forks, and little pieces like the fender braces and darts, then red for all the sheet metal. I think black darts on the red tank over the black frame would look good.

Getting the darts on in a way that they can come off to be powder coated separately was a challenge, but after some thought, I got it. I even managed to counter sink where the bolt goes, to make it flush. That wasn't easy. haha. Next will be cleaning all the parts to bare metal, and putting it...

Once I got the fit right on the tank, I used a 7/8" strip of sheet metal in the front, and completed the tank. Next will be affixing the trim darts on the side.

I mean, I do want to put one in there. But no, no plan.

were do you drawl the line? how many bikes are 1 to many?

An interesting question. I used to have more, but I bought a bike store rack set up, so bikes could be on the ground, and several up in a second layer. I forget how many fit high on the rack... maybe six? Anyhoo, I decided for myself that as long as they fit on or under the rack, I can keep it...

Ripped the two sides in half. Then started to get fitment on the bike. It's going to end up skinnier than an actual Airflo tank, but that's okay, I'm still really happy with how this is going. I have no plan for any kind of front reflector or light, by the way. But that's part of why I...

Got the tank filled in and whole, all the way around. Then started making a template for a trim piece like you see on actual Airflo tanks. Then I took that template, and made two pieces in 16g steel. Let's see how it's looking on the frame! Next will be one of the more delicate parts...

Cutting, and rearranging bits of the tank I made, to get it in the right shape. A lot of work. Cutting and re-welding back together, sometimes multiple times in the same spot. Frustrating, but it's coming near it's end.

This is one not only great, but it's inspired me to maybe try my hand at making one of these after I finish the tank for my Airflow.

Second option. Rolled it to match the tubing on the bike, then used a marker to layout a cut on the sides, and ripped 'em with a cut-off wheel.

Hey, so I've got an update on this build. I was very unhappy with how the tank, and a few other details were working out, so three years ago, I set it aside in my shop, and it's been collecting dust all this time. The biggest issue was with the tank, which looks okay in pics, but in person, it's...

My brother bought me a doll bike, from the brand Our Generation. Was it a joke, or maybe he thought I could do something cool with it? Either way, I've held onto it for a few years, so I thought it was finally time to cut it up, and make it into a burrito.

I made a western themed bike before. A real child's saddle as the seat, rodeo trophies, horseshoes, and many other cowboy touches.

I scratch built a frame and fork combo that could see the bike being completed without a single part standing higher than the tires. I intended to keep this for myself, but I did the math wrong, and it ended up a little too short for me, so I sold it. I still really like how it came out.

I made a Rocketeer inspired helmet using all stainless parts, including a pump cover, some HVAC duct, coffee maker parts, and salt and pepper shakers, plus a few other bits like vintage goggles.
