I would repaint it. This is the ‘36 Schwinn I painted and built. It has a Giant cromo mtb fork, Dia-compe front canti brake setup, Araya rims and a 2 speed Sturmey kick back hub.

Cool ride. Looking at the fork, I believe it was made by Giant. A layback post will give you more room. My guess is will have a 1” post. Truetorch make a really solid cromo post than wont bend.

ebay is your best bet. That’s where I found mine.
