What have you been riding lately?

My HD has been through at least 10 reincarnations and awaiting it next one. They are a tough frame.

Think I’ll be moving up north soon! Coldest morning down south for years.

    La Fugazi

    Thanks KF.

    La Fugazi

La Fugazi lost its fenders today and almost 2kgs in the process. Other than the weight I always liked the bike without them especially now that you see more of the the cool prewar Murray fork.

    ... From My Front Door

Cool ride Matti. Looks like you finally got the Duck sorted out to your liking. When I first started riding again 3 years ago I was skeptical of how much I could do on a single speed. Now that my legs are so much stronger, I like them the most for a blast around town and don’t the miss the...

    53 Roadmaster

I bought a nos diamond skip tooth chain recently and reunited the ‘53 with its original front sprocket. I also fitted a pair of red Thompson grips but I think I’ll be switching back to a black set. The front sprocket I removed went on to my ‘98 LL which just happens to be the right one for it.

Brought a couple old boys home

Looking at the seat clamp on the cwc, my guess is it is post war but the straight chain stays and down tube scream prewar. Many post war cwc frames had rear facing dropouts even as late as the mid 50’s. Both are cool but the cwc is not one I have seen before and cooler with the straight down tube.

    Borders & bicycles

I used to travel to the USA every year for work and on every return trip I brought back parts for my race car or the 2 mustangs I restored. You could import up to $1000 of goods before you were slugged gst and duty. As such I always declared something made of wood and more often than not asked...

    Borders & bicycles

Would you believe the guy who sold me this frame got it out of Canada? Why can’t you get them across the border? I thought only Australia had draconian customs regulations.

    Stealthmaster

Update. 3” extended longhorn bars fitted this week. I first tried them 4” longer and decided they were too long so I shortened them by 1”.

What have you been riding lately?

Freeliner, my ‘36 Schwinn/BFG got a skip tooth drivetrain, 3 piece cranks and a SA kickback hub today. It is a little noiser with its converted rear sprocket but it still rides nice with plenty of speed. ‘36 BFG Streamliner.

    TRADITIONAL ⚡️⚡️⚡️THUNDERBOLT⚡️⚡️⚡️

I'm not a fan of soft springers. An alternative to fitting the solid rods is to shim the springs and do the nut up further which passes through the springs. I did this on a Schwinn springer and it stiffened the fork considerably.
