    TRADITIONAL 🅵🅾🅾🅻🅸🅶🅰🅽 - 1930s Elgin Oriole - 2nd Place (Tie) - BUILD JOURNAL

Looking good KF. Great frame. Those Murray built frames are really solid, way heavier than say a typical Schwinn frame. I think it would takes some heat to dimple the chain stays

    Electra Bicycle Pics

Marketplace buy cruiser 1 for around $100. 2 days later and a heap of parts from my arsenal. Awesome rider and fast with a 2 speed Sturmey Archer kickback hub.

What have you been riding lately?

I picked up this Electra cruiser 1 last night on marketplace for the cost of a couple of slabs of beer. A lady won it in a raffle and her husband wasn’t interested. I got it home, pumped up the tires and went for a spin around the block. I was surprised how easy it was to ride and even more...

    Bikes I likes

Hey Matti. I think you might like these. These Ritchey mtbs are owned by a bloke in NY on another forum. 81 Ritchey Everest. It came from the Seattle area. The owner states Charley Kelly built the wheels on this bike and the next one which he also owns. 83 Ritchey Competition. The frame...

    Black bikes

This ‘51 Panther is the first American balloon tire bike (frame) I bought over 15 years ago. It has been through so many iterations since then and this last one will be the last. I love it because it got me passionate about bikes again after messing around with cars for years and riding again...

What have you been riding lately?

Such a beautiful day for a blast around town on the ‘41 Colson loop tail. It is now running the cranks and wheels with a Nexus 7 speed that were were previously fitted to my Panther. Have a great weekend and safe riding. Yeah, I have thing for buildings with red bricks.

    Show us them cars!

This 1979 935 raced in the sport sedan series for many years in Australia. Twin turbo 2.8, 630hp. The sound it makes is not one you will easily forget.

    Building my first Klunker!

Also keep in mind that you may need to spread the rear dropouts. You can find simple instructions on the Sheldon Brown website.

    Building my first Klunker!

I built this bike for a RRB build off last year. It is also a mix of parts from several cheap mountain bikes. It has a 3 x 1 drivetrain using a front derailleur and mtb cranks with 3 chain rings. It worked well but it was a pain and slow to select gears and I am now rebuilding it with a 2 speed...

    Building my first Klunker!

This ‘62 Typhoon is a mix of 80’s and 90’s mtb parts as well as some bmx goodies. The brake levers, 7 speed cluster, derailleur and shifter were pulled from barely used inexpensive mountain bikes. The wheels are a custom set but I originally had the mtb wheels fitted and it didn’t ride much...

What have you been riding lately?

Beautiful autumn day downunder in Melbourne today. I haven’t been on a bike in over 2 weeks for a number of reasons and it was really quiet at work so I shut the office, put my phone on divert, grabbed the ‘51 Panther and tore off through town to the bay. It was my first ride on this bike after...

    '87 Schwinn Cruiser find

Giant built Schwinn, most likely in Taiwan. Great quality and base for a build. It should be lighter than a Chicago built Schwinn as they were Tig welded.

What have you been riding lately?

First ride on my rebuilt ‘51 Panther, the first Schwinn frame i bought in 2008. I’ve changed this bike a heap of times over the years but it was begging for new paint. I had the frame powder coated and painted the tank and bars. I extended the bars 3 inches, stiffened up the springer and...

    THE RICKPAULOS COLLECTION

The thick slicks have a thick inner layer to prevent punctures. I have them on two 29” bikes and wouldn’t say they are heavy for the type of tire they are. In comparison a duro 26” cruiser tire is close to 1kg or even more. The thickslicks handle and roll great too.

What have you been riding lately?

I got out of the office after midday for a 2 hour blast around town on the 29” Big Style. Some of the most incredible cast iron lacework I have seen on a home in the city. Followed by the stunning multicolored, tuckpointed brickwork on St Judes Church, completed in 1874. The work around the...
